Chengjun Ji and Banjie Lin were married in an intimate ceremony in a private ceremony in the home of Rev. Jan Carter. In attendance were the bride’s parents and the mother of the officiant. The radiant couple said “yes” and nodded their heads enthusiastically several times during their vows as Rev. Jan asked whether they took each other to live together in marriage, to love, comfort, honor, and keep one other for better or worse, for richer or poorer, in sickness and health, forsaking all others and to be faithful to each other for as long as they both shall live. The ceremony ended with the reading, I Ching, which says:
When two people are at one in their inmost hearts,
they shatter even the strength of iron or bronze.
And when two people understand each other in their inmost hearts,
their words are sweet and strong, like the fragrance of orchids.
The newlywed couple will make their home in Seattle while attending college.
