Merry Christmas to all. As we get ready to celebrate the next few days with family and friends, may we remember that this is a time for rejoicing. Whatever your religious and spiritual beliefs, may peace fill all your hearts in this season of hope, faith, and love.
The Lord’s thoughts toward you are thoughts of a hope and a future. No matter where you are, or what happens in your life, God never gives up on you and your future. I know some of you are facing many challenges: unemployment, illness, loneliness, destroyed homes, broken lives and uncertain futures. Know that your Heavenly Father sees this and is there for you, to love and guide you.
From Romans 15:13: “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.”
From 1 Corinthians 13:4-13, one of the most beloved passages from the Bible: “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love.”
May love fill you hearts and your lives and guide you in everything you do. Learn to forgive. May you have faith that God will see you through the difficult times and rejoice with you in your happy times. He is always there by your side to help you and guide you, if you let Him into your life.
From Philippians 4:13,: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
From Proverbs 3:5-6: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.”
And from Deuteronomy 31:6: “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”
Wishing all of you a very Merry Christmas and a New Year filled with love, hope, and faith.
